Published on the occasion of a major retrospective at MAXXI, this volume offers a comprehensive survey of photographer Guido Guidi's work, constructed in an associative and illuminating style. Comprising many of his most celebrated series, together with previously unpublished photographs, writings and paintings, the book traces the evolution of Guidi's visual language throught formal experiments, explorations of the agricultural landscapes of Romagna (Italy's region), his birthplace, studies of illustrious architects such as Carlo Scarpa, travels across the United States and Europe, and the reflective space of his studio, workshop and archive. The book includes a collection of critical essays by italian and international authors, a chronology, a bibliography, and hundreds of images selected by the author himself.
