The eleventh title in the MAXXI Arte Collection Focus Series, the volume accompanies the exhibition of the same name and marks the entry of the Pieroni Gallery Fund into the MAXXI Art Archives Centre. Through historic and authorial images, installation views, invitations, critical texts and archive materials, it retraces the history of the gallery founded by Mario Pieroni and Dora Stiefelmeier: a place of experimentation and international dialogue, which has hosted the research of artists such as Boetti, Kounellis, Fabro, Merz, Pistoletto, Accardi, Kosuth, Gilbert & George. Not only a tribute to the exhibition activity of Pescara and Rome, but a study and in-depth analysis tool capable of activating new connections between languages, visions and practices that have transformed the very concept of exhibition and work. The volume includes an unpublished interview with the gallery owners, critical essays and the complete register of the exhibitions and works on display, offering a starting point for the study of the gallery's activity, which has been, in turn, a driving force for the promotion and transformation of contemporary art.
