Part of the Nature series , dedicated to architectural monographs, the catalogue documents the work of architect Maria Giuseppina Grasso Cannizzo, focusing on the installation IN COLLISIONE, specifically conceived for the spaces of the MAXXI, and on a house built in Vittoria, in the province of Ragusa, the author's hometown. As Grasso Cannizzo herself states, if the installation IN COLLISIONE is: «An imposing object pushed several times, like a battering ram, against the wall at the back of the gallery», Vittoria's house starts from the «void produced by the demolition of a building as an opportunity to give rise to a new sequence in the process of sedimentation of the city». In addition to the architect's texts focusing on the two projects, the book collects essays by the curators who contextualise her work in the context of contemporary research, tracing its path from the beginning to the present day, as well as her biography and complete bibliography. A full-length portrait of the architect punctuated by images and renderings of the projects that allows for total immersion in her creative universe.
