MAXXI BVLGARI PRIZE 2022

The catalogue documents the work of the finalists for the MAXXI Bulgari Prize, open to young Italian artists with the goal of valorising and promoting contemporary creativity. Texts by the curator are joined with those by the selectors and judges of the Prize to paint a vivid picture of Italian society drawing on diverse languages and themes: from Alessandra Ferrini’s social-historical research to Silvia Rosi’s investigation of the medium of photography, to the interest in the transformation of materials manifested in sculptures by Namsal Siedlicki. The essays are accompanied by numerous illustrations: video stills, photographs, drawings and sketches, some never before published, delineate the multiform universe of these artists.
