The catalogue, published in conjunction with the archival exhibitions curated by Carlo Fatigoni, traces the history of Sound Art in Italy, from the first pioneering experiments in the 1950s to the most recent multimedia operations of the 1990s and the twenty-first century, realized thanks to the use of the Internet and new digital technologies. Subdivided into decades, the book is conceived as an easy-to-use handbook with images documenting the works, views of the installation of the show, and brief entries describing the works on display. Vinyl records, CDs, photographs, posters, and videos trace a vivid picture of Sound Art and its protagonists, a first attempt at mapping a fluid history which is still taking shape.
